I've ended up planting my few Pellies because it's easier to manage their rootzone that way¹. They're grateful judging by their response.
I realise I've just pushed the problem back to when I need to lift and re-acclimatise them to pot growing but so be it.
¹All bar one, this one I've washed the compost off the roots and potted in 8-12mm leca and am growing hydroponically in the dining room window, so far so good.
I think with the weather we are having planting out is a good plan - much easier to care for them and growth should yield a lot of cutting material. I hope they settle into pots when the time comes.
